Our Go To Places To Visit When It’s Too Hot

Hi Everyone! I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer break. We have been on a low key summer break and just enjoying days without all the rush. This week we are having a major heat wave and so it feels like 100+ degrees out here in NJ. With the temps so high we tend to do more indoor activities when we can’t get the pool. In this post I wanted to share some of our go to places to visit when the temps are uncomfortable to be outdoors. Check down below for favorites and if you don’t live in NJ I am sure that you may have similar places in your area that you can check out.

Museums & Discovery Centers

My kids love to visit and explore all different types of Museums. Especially ones that the kids can interact with. Here are some of our favorites:

Liberty Science Center

The Franklin Institute (Philly)

The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University (Philly)

American Museum of Natural History (NY)

Tilt Museum

Legoland Discovery Center

Arcades & Indoor Amusement Parks

The boys love visiting the arcades and we love to take them during the week when its less crowded. They also love going to the ones that not only have an arcade but also have an indoor amusement park.

Dave & Busters

The Funplex

iPlay America

Nickelodeon Universe

Indoor Waterparks

Indoor water parks are always fun all year round but can be great during the summer when its super hot. Not having to wait in long lines during the heat is a amazing. Here are some where you don’t need to book a hotel stay and can visit for the day.

Big Kahuna’s (formally Sahara Sam’s Oasis)

DreamWorks Water Park

Aquariums

Adventure Aquarium

Sea Life Aquarium

Indoor Mini Golf

Monster Mini Golf

Black Light Mini Golf

Angry Birds Mini Golf

If some of these places are out of reach for you then try hitting up the movie theatre or bowling alley. My kids love going to both and there are so many movies for all ages out right now. Also if you go bowling check to see when they have Cosmic Bowling. That is always a fun time.

I hope that this helps to give you some ideas on what to do with the kids especially when its super hot. If your at the pool or beach make sure to stay hydrated and cool. Enjoy!

As always Thank You for all the Love & Support!
